The Scandalous Love and Goodness of God

Why is it so difficult for us to understand the ways of God, especially as it relates to His love for all of us? Jesus teaches us through the parable of the generous Landowner, that He is more merciful than we ever understand and His gift of eternal life is open to everyone, even those who come to Him in the 11th hour.
