Welcome to Harvest!
We would love to invite you to experience the love, grace and mercy of God here at Harvest Anglican! Our family (with the support of the Diocese of the Carolinas) prayerfully partnered together to launch a historically orthodox, Anglican church for the greater Golden Strip area in August 2021—right in the midst of a global pandemic!
“Seeking the heart of Jesus; Serving the hearts of people in his name.”
The vision for Harvest began as a calling for my family in the Simpsonville area—to plant a modern AND historical Anglican faith community that “feeds hungry souls” by genuinely exuding passionate worship, welcoming community and devoted service as a community of faith. Again, we felt that holy call in the midst of a global pandemic—that the world would be starving for those things, and thankfully, we are seeing God move and people respond in a really healthy and fruitful way! Since the early days of planting, God has continue to bless our family for “stepping out” in faith/obedience in miraculous ways. We went from worshiping periodically in our backyard in late early 2021 with a few families, to officially launching weekly worship as a “mission” of the Diocese in August of 2021—to now growing to become an official “congregation” within the Diocese in 2025! Glory to God!
The journey of church planting has been exciting, wonderful and yes—challenging! It’s not for the faint of heart! We plan to worship in our own sanctuary one day, and that is in the Lord’s hands as far as timing. Until then, he keeps providing—and we just keep serving and following his gracious lead and provision one day at at time. Right now, I’m amazed at how our space is transformed into “sacred space” every Sunday by the presence of God! I think you’ll be surprised as well. We like to say, “Come and see.”
And when you do come… realize that we might not have all the “programs” and “bells and whistles” of some of the larger established churches. But what we do pray that we have… is real authenticity in our Harvest community and the felt presence of the Holy Spirit as we worship, fellowship and do life together in Christian mission. I promise that, at Harvest, we will not be perfect—because there IS no perfect church. But, we will proclaim the true gospel of Jesus Christ and clearly affirm what it is that we believe so that you hopefully walk away with a clearer understanding AND a deeper knowledge of God and his love. We will also do our very best to provide a place of biblical love and community for you.
Know this—we are already praying for you, and we hope you will join us Sunday or at our next worship event!
Grace and peace,
The Rev. Travis Abercrombie, Rector
